The Newman family is so special to me! I want to say I met Amy (Shaylee's mom) about 3 years ago when I took her youngest son's photos for his first birthday. Since then, I've been able to be a part of a lot of special events in this family's life, including this AMAZING one. We had discussed shooting Shaylee's birth since Shaylee found out she was pregnant, but the thought of calling your photographer while you're in labor is most likely the LAST thing on your mind, so...that's why you have your mom do it, ha!
I believe Shaylee went into labor sometime around 1 am. Amy messaged me at 2:36 a.m. and said "We are gonna have a baby this morning. You up?!"
I was SO up! (Always).
Thank goodness I have amazing people here, one of many mom's (haha) Sharon came to stay with Cam while I ran up to the hospital! Will had to go to work at 4 a.m. so I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it which would have broke my heart, but I'm so thankful I had someone that was willing to be at my house at the drop of a dime so that I could be there!
I believe I arrived sometime around 3:30 a.m. and Shaylee had Nyleigha around 4:07 a.m. or suppperrr close to that! She was coached by her sister Leah and mom, Amy and she did such a great job laboring, especially since she was already way too far dilated to get any sort of medicine. Shaylee pushed for about a half hour and Nyleigha Rose made her grand entrance! She looks so much like her older sister too!
I'd like to thank Amy for thinking of me in such a hectic time and Shaylee for allowing me to capture such beautiful moments! I'd also like to thank the doctors and nurses who were so accommodating to me and allowed me to be wherever I needed to get the shots I wanted.
I think having these photos to look back on are really something to cherish because let's all be honest...birthing a baby is mostly a blur, especially after you get to meet your little human. So, to look back and see your mom holding your hand and your sister's reaction to her niece being born....is invaluable.
Congratulations Gio & Shaylee, you guys did good....again! XOXOX
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
